Hungry Ghost Café - Logo Design & Identity

Hungry Ghost Cafe - Branding Design By The Sound Of Breaking Glass - Creative Studio

Hungry Ghost Café – Logo & Branding Design

The Sound of Breaking Glass – Creative Studio developed the complete logo and branding package for Hungry Ghost Café, located in Avalon on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Known for its fresh brewed coffee, Nonna’s homemade wagon wheels, toasted delights, and the now-famous jalapeño and meatball jaffle, the café is a local favourite with a strong personality.

The Concept

The client requested a “Stranger Things”–inspired typographical treatment for the café name, paired with visual elements influenced by protective deities and Tibetan Buddhist imagery. This combination brought together a sense of bold pop culture reference with deeper symbolic layers, resulting in a brand identity that is both eye-catching and culturally rich.

Deliverables

The project included:

  • Custom logo design with bespoke typography
  • Shop signage for street visibility
  • Staff T-shirt graphics for a cohesive team look
  • Rubber stamps for hand-stamping plain packaging
  • Branded coffee cups for takeaway service

Outcome

The branding package captures the café’s unique blend of local charm, memorable menu, and distinctive visual style. It provides a consistent, adaptable identity that works across signage, merchandise, and packaging.
